SMP GmbH is a DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025-accredited testing laboratory offering a wide range of services related to cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization processes. We support manufacturers of medical devices by helping them introduce new products and by regularly testing products and devices in hospitals and medical practices.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for an experienced, motivated, and qualified individual (m/f/d) to serve as Laboratory Manager for our laboratory specializing in chemical-physical residual protein analysis and instrument-related preparation and contamination control.

These tasks await you
  • Development and implementation of long-term strategic goals in collaboration with senior laboratory management, e.g. Improvement measures
  • Ensuring compliance with current normative and regulatory requirements throughout all testing processes
  • Supervising the training of new staff in the laboratories
  • Creation, further development, and optimization of internal laboratory processes and testing methods, including quality assurance
  • Planning automation and digitization
  • Responsibility for facilities and laboratories
  • Conducting and reporting on laboratory rounds
  • Responsible for all laboratory supplies, including ordering consumables and receiving goods
  • Performing standardized procedures in residual protein analysis, instrument reprocessing, and contamination control
  • General laboratory duties
  • Approval of materials, routine monitoring, and documentation
  • Responsibility for methods
  • Ensuring that all tests are properly documented and recorded
  • Smooth collaboration and reporting with department management, senior laboratory leadership, and technical management
  • Ensuring that all analyses and tests comply with quality standards and regulatory requirements
  • Implementing and maintaining an effective quality management system for testing procedures

  • Technical or scientific education
  • Preferred: Experience in establishing and maintaining a quality management system (in accordance with ISO 17025 and ISO 9001)
  • Knowledge of analytical laboratory work
  • Good computer skills
  • High sense of responsibility when taking on tasks
  • Independent working style based on structured work organization
  • Meticulous and structured approach to work
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent communication skills
  • Hands-on approach
  • Knowledge of spectroscopic methods and equipment is desirable
